A Passion for Fashion – and the Eveleen Dollery Award

I’m a lucky girl with great friends. One of my best friends Mr. Luke Lopez, ask me to go to a info session with him about a workshop series here in Toronto called “A Passion for Fashion”.

The workshops were about  how to break into the Toronto Fashion scene and also startup your fashion based business. I went to the info session and it sounded AMAZING… Plus it was FREE! I signed up on the spot. There were 6 workshops in total half devoted to the business side of opening a company and the other devoted to the business of fashion (Lookbooks, press kits, PR, sourcing..).Every single one of those workshops was amazing. I learned so much from them and the tips and advice given were invaluable, all the speakers were cool and down to earth – giving it to us real.

At the end of that adventure I came out of it with the Eveleen Dollery Award in Recognition of excellence in fashion business entrepreneurship, given to me at the Fashion Incubator of Toronto. It was such a great night and really encouraged me to take my business to the next level.

I wanna give a special thanks to Annie Lam and Richard Healy for all your encouragement and knowledge that you gave me, CHI MIIGETCH!! (Huge Thanks, in Ojibwe).

For those of you just starting out, you can find more info about this amazing opportunity here —> http://www.yes.on.ca/passionforfashion/
